2007-2008 Grand Prix Standings - Open Division & Age Groups

The rules for this season are essentially the same as in the past:
1. You must be an ATC member to participate in either the Open or Age Group category. Your membership will be verified as we start the new series and as we progress through the 2007-2008 year.

2. Points will be awarded only for completion of the race for which you are registered. (No changing distances during a race.) Also, you may enter and be eligible for only one (1) race in events that have multiple distances.

Men's and Women's Open Division
1. No minimum number of races.

2. Points awarded as follows for overall placement in a race:

First Place 150 points
Second Place-120 points

Fourth Place-80 points
Fifth Place-60 points
Sixth Place-50 points
Seventh Place-40 points (men only)
Eighth Place-30 points (men only)

Men's and Women's Age Group Divisions
1. You must officially finish at least ten races of the series. Children 14 & under need only finish eight races, due to the 10K distance limitation for 14 & under.

2. If you age up into a new age group during the season, points cannot be transferred from your original age group to your new age group. You must declare your age group preference at the first race you enter after your birthday. If you do not state a preference, you will be moved into your new age group.

3. Children 10 years old and under can receive points for the One (1) Hour Run. No points will be given for the Prediction Run to either children or adults, but it will count as a race.

4. The age groups are as follows: 14 & Under (10K or less),15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and 75 & Over.

5. Points awarded as follows for age group placement in a race:

First Place-100 points
Second Place-80 points
Third Place-60 points
Fourth Place-40 points
Fifth Place-20 points

All runners who finish the minimum number of races for the age group division receive a special T-shirt - regardless of place!

All runners who complete every event they are eligible to run receive a commemorative prize.

Special awards are given to the first place open division man and woman and the top 3 points-earners in each age group; the man and woman with the most age group points amongst all age group runners. (Runners may not receive more than one award. For example, the first place open division man would not be eligible to receive an age group award.)
