Elite Field Announced for 47th AJC Peachtree Road Race

ATLANTA – June 30, 2016 –The AJC Peachtree Road Race has a long history of bringing the greatest runners in the world to the streets of Atlanta. July 4, 2016 will be no different as world champion marathon runners, U.S. Olympic team members and former Georgia high school stars line up for the 47th running of the world's largest 10K. Today Atlanta Track Club announced the complete elite lineup for this year's AJC Peachtree Road Race. Runners will compete to have their name engraved on the Peachtree Cup. They will also be competing for a prize purse totaling $57,000 with the male and female winner receiving $7,500 each. Prize money will also be awarded for the top Georgia resident.

The AJC Peachtree Road Race is a 10K event that takes place every Fourth of July in Atlanta, Georgia.  The first Peachtree was held in 1970 and featured 110 finishers.
