Running a marathon or half marathon is no easy feat, so join in on the Thanksgiving Day fun and cheer on your favorite runner as they work to achive their goal of crossing the finish line! Below is some information regarding some of the best places to cheer on the runners:
Wachovia Welcome Station
The Atlanta Track Club invites spectators to stop by the Wachovia Welcome Station, courtesy of Wachovia in conjunction with the race headquarters hotel, the InterContinental Hotel Buckhead. The station is located at the InterContinental Hotel Buckhead (3315 Peachtree Rd., just north of Piedmont Rd. ) and will be open from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. The Wachovia Welcome Station is near the five mile point for the Atlanta Half Marathon and the eight and 18 mile points for the Atlanta Marathon.
"Men of a Certain Age" Cheer Zone
Come cheer on your runners at TNT’s “Men of a Certain Age” Cheer Zone located at the Peachtree Square Shopping Center on Peachtree Rd. just south of Peachtree Hills Ave. The “Men of a Certain Age” Cheer Zone marks the midway point of the Atlanta Half Marathon (near the 20 mile mark for the Atlanta Marathon) because the best parts of life happen in the middle.

All spectators are welcome to head to Turner Field to see their runner finish the big event. Spectators can cheer on runners along as they make their way down Hank Aaron Drive toward the finish line. Don't forget, the best way to get down to the finish is to take MARTA. Take the train south to Five Points station and transfer to the East/West line. Go one stop east to the Georgia State station, which is a 15-20 minute walk heading south to the finish area. Other great spectating areas along the course include
