I am entered in the AJC Peachtree Road Race 2010.  When will I receive my race number?

If you selected to have your race number mailed to you, race packets containing your number, ChronoTrack D-Tag (the timing device attached to your number) and race instructions will arrive the week of June 21 at the address submitted during registration.

For those that selected to pick up your race number at the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo, you will receive your race number confirmation via email the week of June 21.  You will be required to show your race number confirmation along with a valid ID when you pick up your number at the Expo.

What will I need to bring with me when I pick up my race number at the expo?

You will need to provide two items when you pick up your race number - 1)Valid ID (Valid forms of ID include, Drivers License, Passport, School ID, Utility Bill, School Report Card, etc.) 2) Copy of your race number confirmation.  If you are picking up your race number at the expo, you will be e-mailed a confirmation number by June 21, 2010.

I didn't select the mail option during registration, but am unable to pick up my number at the expo.  Can a friend pick up my number for me?

If you are unable to pick up your race number at the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo, your number may be picked up by a third party.  The person picking up your race number will need to have the following items with them in order to pick up your number for you:

  1. Copy of your ID (see above for acceptable forms of ID).
  2. Copy of your race number confirmation.

I have a number, but can't participate in the 2010 AJC Peachtree Road Race, what should I do?

If you are not able to attend the 2010 event for any reason, you can return your number to the ATC for a guaranteed slot in next year’s race. If you selected to pick up your race number at the expo and are planning on returning it, you will still need to pick up your number. Send the unused number (no need to send your entire packet) by July 31, 2010 to the Atlanta Track Club, 3097 E. Shadowlawn Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30305.

In return, you will receive a postcard in the mail with instructions on how to redeem your guarantee card for entry in the 2011 AJC Peachtree Road Race. Your fee will not be waived, but you will receive guaranteed entry.

How do I know what start wave I’m in?

Top-seeded runners will have numbers ranging from 200-750, and sub-seeded numbers will range from 1000-1999.  All other race numbers will feature the letter that corresponds with your start wave.  For those who submit a finish time for start wave placement, click here to view individual start wave time standards.

How are numbers assigned?

New for 2010, start assignments for the AJC Peachtree Road Race will be performance based. Event participants will have the opportunity to submit a finish time from a past race during registration, and will be placed in the appropriate start wave based on their time. Assigning start positions based on performance will enhance every participant’s experience by easing congestion at the start line as well as along the course.  Individuals who do not submit a finish time during registration will be randomly assigned to one of the last start waves.

I’m an Atlanta Track Club member. Why was I not placed up front?

As stated on the ATC membership application, membership in the Atlanta Track Club does not guarantee entry into, or special placement in Peachtree. To be fair to everyone, member and non-member, start wave assignments will be based on performance.

Click here for additional information regarding start wave placement.

My family has been assigned numbers in different groups. How can we run together?

If you’d like to run with someone assigned to a different group, you may do so by running together in the group with the highest number. For example, if your number is in Start Wave A and your friend or family member is in Start Wave L, you may run together in Start Wave L.  The start wave that you are assigned is indicated on your race number.

I received a silver race number.  What does that mean?

If you receive a silver race number in your race packet, it means that you are automatically entered into the Delta Runway to the World drawing for a trip for two to London! All Delta Runway to the World silver number recipients must run and finish the AJC Peachtree Road Race in order to qualify for the drawing.  The random drawing to name the Delta Runway to the World winner will take place on July 4th at approximately 10 a.m. on the awards stage at Park Tavern.  Participants must be present to win.  For the full list of rules and regulations for Delta Runway to the World click here.

I’ve just found out I won’t be able to run. Can I get my money back?

If you won’t be able to run, you will need to request a guarantee card by July 31. We will issue you a guarantee card in the mail: please read it carefully and follow the instructions on the card. The card will guarantee you a spot in the following year’s race if the instructions are followed.

As stated on the application and instructions, race fees are not refundable, nor are they transferable from year to year. Once you are signed up, race fees are used for race expenses and cannot be returned.

I can’t run, so I’d like to give my number to a friend. Is that OK?

No, race numbers are non-transferable.

I’ve lost my number. Can I get a replacement?

Unfortunately, only ONE number is issued per runner. Lost numbers cannot be replaced under ANY circumstance.
