Today the Asics LA Marathon has announced the hiring of Tracey Russell as chief executive officer. The Atlanta Track Club has released the following statement.
For the past six years, we have had the honor to call Tracey Russell the executive director of the Atlanta Track Club. She has done a wonderful job at building a strong organization with an amazing and talented staff. Tracy has continued the Atlanta Track Club’s history of supporting the Atlanta community while building respect across the nation. We are very proud of her and are happy with the opportunity she has been given to move forward with her career and manage another terrific event in Los Angeles.
The Atlanta Track Club will continue to organize and manage our full array of events including our premier event, the AJC Peachtree Road Race. All of the plans for the 2013 AJC Peachtree Road Race are in place and Tracey has agreed to stay at the Atlanta Track Club through this year’s race. There is no doubt that every aspect of the race will be executed well as it is every year.
We will be forming a search committee to identify Tracey’s replacement. The job is a top one in the sports industry and we are certain there will be many fine candidates considered. On behalf of everyone associated with the Atlanta Track Club, we wish Tracey the best.
