Known as one of the few 10 mile road races in Metro Atlanta, the Atlanta 10 Miler is now the only area event to offer prize money at the distance. Atlanta Track Club announced today a $3,000 prize purse for the event which will be held on October 26, 2014. The Atlanta 10 Miler debuted in 2013 and along with the addition of prize money in 2014, this year’s event will also feature a new course which starts and ends at Atlantic Station.
The overall winning male and female will each earn $600. There is added incentive for Atlanta Track Club members to compete, as the amount awarded to the overall male and female doubles if the winner is also a club member. Prize money will also be awarded in the categories of Masters, Grandmasters, Atlanta Track Club Member, Atlanta Track Club Member-Masters and Atlanta Track Club Member- Grandmasters. Eligible participants can earn awards in multiple categories. To be eligible for Atlanta Track Club Member categories, the participant must be a member in good standing prior to October 22.
