Instructions for Placement in Peachtree Time Groups

Applications for the July 4th, 2008, race will be accepted on a first-come first-in basis up to 45,000 entries. Ten thousand additional entries will be selected at random from applications postmarked in March 2008 (for a total of 55,000). Mail in your application as soon as you receive one. You risk NOT GETTING INTO PEACHTREE if you delay submission of your application to wait for verification of a past race time. Peachtree fills up fast. Click on the following link for information on: Peachtree Registration.

RUNNERS: You must attach printed proof of a qualifying finish time to your Peachtree application when the application is submitted. There will be NO CHANGING of times in 2008 AFTER submission of the application.

Results from any U.S. or international race of 5 miles or longer on a course certified by the USATF or other national body are acceptable. It is the responsibility of the runner to determine the certification status of races to be used for result submission. Times from races of 5M to 10K are preferred; results from longer races will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Specific ATC races and times are listed below.

If no proof of time is attached, and your 10K time reported on the Peachtree application falls into a Top-Seeded, Sub-Seeded or Time Group One category, you will automatically be placed in an undocumented time group on a space-available basis. Printed proof includes official race results or formal documentation by race director, which may be verified. These would include: photocopy of official results card from qualifying race; newspaper results with name and time highlighted (photocopies acceptable if name and date of race are clearly visible); printout of results from race website with name and time highlighted. (submit only first page showing name and date of race and page showing registrant’s name).

RUNNERS SLOWER THAN 54:59, PLEASE NOTE: If you have results from a 10K race you have run after March 1, 2006, you should include a copy of those results along with your Peachtree application—even though your times may be over 54:59—in order to help race officials place you in the most appropriate later time groups.
