Ekiden is a long-distance relay that originated in Japan in the 17th century. The Atlanta Ekiden Team Relay combines aspects of the traditional ekiden relay such as the passing of the sash between team members at exchange zones with fun elements such as awards for the best team name and T-shirt.

Packet Pick-Up: September 27, 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m., in Piedmont Park. All team members’ packets must be picked up together by the team captain or representative. Ekiden sashes will be distributed at packet pick-up.
