Board Nominations Process Underway
Once again this year, the Atlanta Track Club Board of Directors Nominating Committee is in the process of considering candidates for board positions that open in 2011. As we undertake the goals of the ATC mission and implement the approved ATC long-term strategy, we will again be seeking candidates who have the background and experience to help us continue to make progress in important areas. The Nominating Committee will evaluate all candidates against the relevant criteria developed from its review of the existing board composition and the skill and experience requirements that have emerged as we implement the various components of the strategic plan. As we go to press with this issue of Wingfoot, the profile review process is underway but not yet finalized. The nominating committee has, however, identified the need for additional skills and experience in areas of non-profit fundraising, volunteer management, as well as community and / or school outreach capability. These are examples of skills and experience that would add value to the existing board.
To be considered for an ATC Board position, individuals must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and a member of the ATC in good standing for at least one (1) year. Individuals should be a part of the running community, through either running, volunteering or directly related activities.
If interested, qualified candidates should submit a resume and a letter of interest explaining their interest and the skills and experience they believe would assist the ATC Board in working toward its stated mission to inspire and engage the community to achieve health and fitness through running. The resume and cover letter should be sent to the Board of Directors Nominating Committee by mail or email. If sent by email, please direct it to
boardnominations@atlantatrackclub.org. In all cases, resumes should be received by September 15, 2010.
