Kilometer Kids Fun Run

Join the Atlanta Track Club and members of its youth running program, Kilometer Kids, for a fun run at Cheney Stadium on February 26 at 5:30 p.m. The one-mile fun run and 50m dash are a fun way to get kids active and fit. This free event is open to children ages 7-14 for the one mile and 6 and under for the 50m dash. Registration will be available online through 11:59 p.m. February 25, and onsite race day beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Preserving Atlanta's Olympic History

It all started with two treadmills. They ran continuously for 48 Hours at the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo covering nearly 800 combined miles to raise money to resurface Cheney Track at Phoenix Park in Atlanta. The site of the track and field warm up facilities during the 1996 Olympic Games had not been updated in more than 20 years and was in desperate need of a new surface. On October 26, 2017 the track re-opened with its new state-of-the art Rekortan surface. The track, an Atlanta Public Schools facility, is now open to the public 24-hours a day. Even though the work on the track is done, we are still accepting donations from people who want to help us making running and walking universally accessible in the Atlanta community.

Your donations will help expand our youth running initiatives and let the gold medalists of the future get their start at a brand new facility once used by gold medalists like Dan O'Brien, Michael Johnson, and Gail Devers.
