Atlanta Track Club Fall Marathon In-Training

The full marathon program is an 18-week program which takes place in the summer/fall that prepares participants for their fall marathon. 

To ensure participants are prepared for their marathon, all registrants must be able to complete at the start of the program 8-10 miles (16:00 min/mile) comfortably for a full marathon.  A pre-training plan will be provided at the kick-off event to support you in reaching this distance requirement by the start of the group runs.

  • Registration opens: March 1st and closes on August 26th
  • Saturday Group Run Schedule:
    • 7:00am –Starts July 30th, (weekly schedule will be based on a November 6th event)
  • Midweek Workout ScheduleThursdays 6:30pm at Piedmont Park, Active Oval
    • Starts the second Thursday in August through third Thursday in November.
  • Seminars/clinics: Monthly Topic with 3 time/location options (schedule will be included in training newsletter)


  • Saturday Locations: 7:00 a.m. - 2016 TBD Rotating Locations*
  • Midweek Workout Schedule: Thursdays 6:30pm at Piedmont Park, Active Oval
  • Soft Surface Sundays (7:30am): Join an optional, unstructured long run with fellow track club members at various runner friendly trails around town when you can’t make Saturday or need to get off the pavement. (location will be sent out in newsletter)


  • $125.00 - Training only
    • Loyalty discount: $10 off for each 2016 Atlanta Track Club In-Training program you participated in this year.
  • $200.00 - Mizuno Upgrade Package
    • Includes Training and Mizuno running shoes valued at $120.00 or less. Shoes above this price point the participant would be responsible for the price difference.  Bring your proof of purchase to the participating running specialty retail partner to redeem your shoes.
    • $75 Upgrade Package: Wish you had purchased the Mizuno Package?  No worries! You can upgrade anytime during the month of August and October and redeem your shoes at the participating specialty running store by bringing in your e-receipt.

  • Paced group runs led by run leaders (12-14 different pace groups by goal finish time)
  • Marathon Ambassadors: We will have a marathon ambassador for four of the larger marathons to help with customizing the schedule and managing a group chat.
  • Monthly seminars and clinics (sample topics: strength training, injury prevention, nutrition, runner safety, etc.)
  • Mid-week Interval workouts
  • 18-16 (Full/Half) week training log to customize to your event, (20 week option for half-marathon that includes 4 week pre-training schedule).
  • Weekly Training Email with training tip video content specific to Half or Full distance
