Craziest Story: My craziest experience with this race was 2 years ago when they quit allowing the virtual race to count toward the streak. I had just finished running the half marathon virtually on the Saturday before the race and a running friend of mine told me it wouldn't count toward my streak. I then had to run down to the expo, sign up and pay again to run the race officially "in person" on Sunday. I'm older now, so running back to back half marathons was a big deal. I was actually faster on race day than running it by myself.

Parking Woes: The first few years of running the race we lived in the suburbs and had to drive to the race. We had a van full of people and got what we thought was a great parking place. It ended up we couldn't leave for several hours after we finished the race because the course blocked our exit. Other cars were running over the grass to escape.

Biggest Obstacle: At 68 yrs old this is the only race I train for every year. I'm a good bit slower, but have been able to maintain the streak on a 3 day a week training program.
