Atlanta Track Club Names 42 High School Athletes to All-Metro Cross Country Team

wingfoot_joaquinlara_2016_1353ATLANTA – November 8, 2016 – Atlanta Track Club has selected 42 student athletes, 21 boys and 21 girls, to receive All-Metro High School Cross Country Team honors. The 42 honorees were chosen by Atlanta Track Club and now coaches, parents and the general public will have the opportunity to vote to determine the athletes’ placement as 1st Team, 2nd Team or 3rd Team honorees.“Georgia has a history of producing some of the best high school runners in the country, and this year is no different,” said Rich Kenah, Atlanta Track Club’s executive director. “Atlanta Track Club looks forward to celebrating the accomplishments of the 53rd All-Metro Cross Country Team along with their coaches and parents.”The 42 All-Metro athletes were selected based on criteria including performance at the state meet, major meet wins and a complete season overview. The names and bios of these athletes are posted on Atlanta Track Club’s website and ga.milesplit.com. Coaches and the community can utilize an online form from November 8-18 to rank the selected athletes among the three teams. The top-ranked male and female athlete will be named Most Outstanding Cross Country Athlete.Each of the All-Metro athletes will be recognized for their extraordinary seasons at the All-Metro Banquet, and 1st Team All-Metro honorees will receive a $500 scholarship from Atlanta Track Club. The 2016 All-Metro High School Cross Country Banquet will be held at The Stave Room in Midtown Atlanta on December 6. The student athletes who have been named Most Outstanding Cross Country Athlete will be announced at the banquet as well as the winners of the Coach’s Dedication Awards. Nominations for the Coach’s Dedication Awards will be accepted through the online form for athlete voting.Family members, coaches and friends are invited to celebrate the success of the student athletes at the 2016 All-Metro High School Cross Country Banquet.
