AInvesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Runners to Finish Inside Georgia State StadiumTLANTA -- October 18, 2018 – An exciting new finish for the Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon & 5K combines two of Thanksgiving’s most-celebrated traditions: Football and running. Today, Atlanta Track Club announced that the nearly 13,000 participants expected for the annual event, would finish their race on the football field inside Georgia State Stadium. Friends and family are welcome to sit in the stands and cheer on the runners and walkers as they cross the finish line.

“On one of the most popular running days of the year, there is no better place to be than here in Running City USA,” said Rich Kenah, Executive Director of Atlanta Track Club. “We are fortunate to have partners like Georgia State University who embrace the sport and invite us into their home to make running memories that will last a lifetime.”

“We are excited to be working with Atlanta Track Club to host the Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon & 5K,” Georgia State Associate Athletic Director and Atlanta Track Club Member Mike Holmes said. “Georgia State Stadium, formerly Centennial Olympic Stadium and Turner Field will make for an incredible finish line experience at one of the most iconic venues in the country. Having runners finish on the field will be a fun and unique experience for all of those participating.”

A Thanksgiving Day tradition, the Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon & 5K begins on Hank Aaron Drive near the Olympic Ring and Torch structure and takes runners through midtown Atlanta, Piedmont Park, Edgewood and Grant Park. The event also includes a One Mile and 50m Dash. Both of those events will also finish on the field. In addition, the Club collects used clothing at the start and finish lines in an effort to donate one ton of clothing to the Atlanta Misison. Registration is open now. Volunteer positions are also available. Visit for more details.
