Favorite Streaker Gift: green visor of 2022

Favorite Memory: My favorite memory was during my 16th year, on February 27, 2022--- it was my 100th lifetime half-marathon. With help from Jay Holder and Atlanta Track Club, I was able to secure bib number 100, which is normally reserved for the 5K race. The weather was awful, pouring rain the entire race, but my friends were waiting at the finish line with balloons, flags, and champagne to celebrate. The rain didn't stop the joy. I was even interviewed by the local TV station, and the segment aired on the 5 o'clock news!

Most Difficult Year: March 1, 2020, Year 14, I was battling a cuboid stress fracture on my Left foot, wearing a recovery boot, and wasn't sure I'd make it to the start line. I wore my recovery boot to the race, left the boot in the car, and replaced it with my running sneakers. I took it slow, focused on gratitude, and crossed the finish line determined not to break the streak. Crossing that finish line reminded me why I love this race. It's not just about speed; it's about showing up and honoring the tradition. After the race, I put my recovery boot back on, which led to a revisit to the doctor's office that required me to wear the boot for an additional 3 months. So be it---- The Streak Was Continued!!!!!

Honoring the Streak: I keep every medal, bib, and race shirt. After every race, I celebrate with a well-earned victory beer! I plan to frame and display all of my medals together after completing my 20th consecutive year, a tribute to two decades of running this race I love.
