Legacy 5K

A patriotic day celebrating a rich military heritage! The Legacy 5k is hosted annually by Officer Candidates at the prestigious Georgia Military Institute, home of the Officer Candidate School for the Georgia National Guard where future military leaders are trained and commissioned. The Legacy 5k Race has become one of the cornerstone events in the Officer Candidate School program planned and executed by the Senior Officer Class. This year Class 62 carries the torch. Previous Officer Classes have attracted hundreds of participants, along with many spectators, volunteers, and members of the media. Officer Class 62 aims to break the attendance record and bring the community together for an inspirational run/walk by honoring soldiers and leaders past, present and future. The race also provides awareness of the rich military history of both the Georgia Military Institute, the State of Georgia, and their contributions to the U.S military's primary purpose of protecting our great Nation.
