Event Alert System Status for the 2026 Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race

JULY 2, 2026 --- Atlanta Track Club is closely monitoring weather conditions in advance of the 57th Running of the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race. Based on current forecasts and in consultation with our medical team and public safety partners, we anticipate beginning race day under the RED Flag conditions of the Event Alert System. This high level of alert indicates potentially dangerous conditions and requires participants to make smart decisions throughout the race.

Runners and walkers need to:

  • Slow their pace
  • Utilize the cooling and water spray stations located along the course
  • Stay well hydrated before, during and after the race
  • Take fluids at every hydration station
  • Pay close attention to their bodies and be aware of their personal limits
  • Follow all instructions from race officials, volunteers and medical personnel

Given the anticipated weather conditions, Atlanta Track Club strongly discourages participation by anyone who is at increased risk for heat-related illness or who is uncertain about their ability to safely complete a 10K in hot and humid conditions. No race result is more important than your health. We encourage participants to make the decision that is right for them and to prioritize their personal safety above all else.

Atlanta Track Club will continue to evaluate conditions leading up to and throughout race morning. Any changes to the Event Alert System level will be communicated through official event channels, including atlantatrackclub.org, social media, email, text messaging, and on-course signage.

We encourage all participants to arrive prepared, have a race plan that accounts for the weather, and prioritize their health and safety above performance goals.
