Eric Heintz Named Chief Operating Officer at Atlanta Track Club

Strategic Reorganization Supports Club's Growth and Mission Expansion

ATLANTA - May 14, 2025 - Atlanta Track Club today announced Eric Heintz as its new Chief Operating Officer, a key move in the organization's strategic restructuring as it looks to scale operations and elevate its impact across metro Atlanta.

Eric's deep understanding of the running community, and his proven leadership as evidenced by the growth of our youth, adult training and elite athlete programs over the last 5 years, make him the right person to help guide the day to day operations of the Club as we look to deliver expand our reach through best in classes events and programs."


Since joining Atlanta Track Club in 2019, Heintz has led the expansion of several of the Club's most visible and impactful initiatives as Director of Performance Programming. Kilometer Kids, the Club's signature free youth program, has more than tripled in reach under his direction, now serving more than 6,000 children annually across 150-plus sites.


He also revived the Club's Youth Team program and introduced Speed Academy to support emerging sprinters and middle-distance athletes. Heintz and the performance programming department expanded the Club's partnership with Atlanta Public Schools by supporting eight new middle school cross country teams and doubling participation in the APS XC Series. He also revitalized Wingfoot Running Camp, which now sells out annually and is four times the size.


In the elite arena, Heintz has played a central role in the growth of Atlanta Track Club Elite, helping build Atlanta's reputation as a center of excellence for Olympic level runners. He was instrumental in securing the bid for the 2025 USATF Half Marathon Championships. Under his leadership, the Peachtree is now ranked as the most competitive 10K globally by World Athletics. During his tenure, the Club's adult and masters training programs have reached record participation and continue to grow.

In his new role, Heintz will oversee the Club's office operations and year-round programming, which currently serves a membership base of more than 38,000. The reorganization allows Kenah to focus more fully on long-term planning and strategic initiatives as the Club enters a pivotal phase of growth.
