Peachtree T-Shirt Design Contest Voting Opens Today

Registration for the 56th Running of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race Begins April 1

ATLANTA - March 10, 2025 - Before runners hit the streets of Atlanta for the 56th Running of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race, they have an important decision to make - what will this year's iconic finisher's shirt look like?

Starting today, the public can cast their vote for the winning design in the 2025 Peachtree T-Shirt Contest. For the first time ever, voting will take place exclusively on the AJC News app. Voting runs through April 10, and each voter can cast one vote per day.

"The Peachtree finisher's shirt isn't just a shirt - it's a badge of honor that participants treasure," said Rich Kenah, CEO of Atlanta Track Club and race director of the Peachtree. "The design contest tradition continues with record participation, just as we saw record-breaking participation at last month's Publix Atlanta Marathon Weekend. We're gearing up for another sellout Peachtree, and we can't wait to see what design runners will proudly wear across the finish line."

This year's contest drew 378 submissions, with a panel of judges from Atlanta Track Club and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution selecting five finalists. The winner will receive $5,600 in honor of the 56th Peachtree, making this the largest prize purse in contest history. The runner-up will receive $3,500, and third place will earn $2,500.

The five finalists are: Bart Sasso, 44, Somerville, Mass.; Beckie Dominick, 33, Gainesville, Ga.; Megan Kincaid, 34, Greensboro, N.C.; Michele Ronan, 37, Atlanta, Ga.; and Russ Vann, 37, Atlanta, Ga.

To preview the designs and vote, download the AJC News Mobile App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store here, or visit ajc.com/peachtree. Once inside the app, look for the 2025 AJC Peachtree Road Race icon.

Registration for the 56th Running of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race will open Monday, April 1, and remain open through April 30 for both Atlanta Track Club members and the general public.

For the first time since 2019, the Peachtree will return to a lottery entry system. Atlanta Track Club members receive guaranteed entry at the lowest price and placement in start waves A-M. Non-members must enter the lottery for a chance to participate. All lottery entrants have an equal chance of selection but are not guaranteed entry. Entrants credit cards will only be charged if selected. Lottery results will be announced in early May.

Title of Design: A Modern Classic

About the Design: The AJC Peachtree Road Race is the quintessential Atlanta event and the original shirt design from the 80s is one of my favorite t-shirts of all time - an absolute classic. This is my homage to that iconic T-shirt design - a modernized version that celebrates the rich history of the world's largest and most renowned 10K.

Title of Design: Retro Peachscape

About the Design: My design pays tribute to the first Peachtree Road Race in 1970, blending inspiration from the era with a modern feel. I chose a retro-inspired color palette that reflects the tones of a peach, but also the colors of the sky. The goal was to create a simple yet bold design that would be instantly recognizable for such an iconic race.

Title of Design: Peachy State of Mind

About the Design: I wanted my design to be fun and to reflect the energy and excitement that the AJC Peachtree Road Race brings to Atlanta every year. Even though it's a big city, Atlanta has a really strong sense of community that you can feel while you're running through each neighborhood, and being a part of it has become a tradition I look forward to every year.

Title of Design: Atlanta Runs Deep

About the Design: Atlanta Runs Deep is more than just a statement; it's a tribute to the many people who make the Peachtree Road Race happen every year. It takes an entire community to put on the world's largest 10K - runners, volunteers, cheering crews, cleanup teams, police officers, the City of Atlanta, Atlanta Track Club and the AJC. Every part of Atlanta plays a role in making the race the great event that it is. My design this year features the iconic peach with a road running deep through the middle symbolizing the way this race connects many parts of the city. It's not just about the miles, but the runners who participate and the people who make it happen. Atlanta Runs Deep.
