Favorite Memory: 2022 in the rain. Running the new course from start to finish in the rain. The company that printed the bibs had supply chain issues and had to use heavier stock which made them easier to tear when wet. I ran over so many bibs on my way to the finish line, thinking each one was a runner who worked as hard as me but wouldn't be getting an official time. Yet it's still my favorite memory because it was my Ultimate Peach and I had no cramping.

Mission Accomplished: I had run a half dozen marathons trying to get my time under 4 hours. Just could not do it. But finally, in the second ING year, I did it in 3:52:39. I could not keep back the tears when I met my wife (who ran the half and was waiting) near the finish line and the official photog took our picture. What a glorious feeling of accomplishment. For all my other sub-4 marathons, no tears because I had no moisture left in my body.

Honoring the Efforts: I made a shadow box for each of the first five marathons. They contain race number, heat sheet, photos and other cool stuff I collected. But I also did that with my other marathons and eventually had to stop because we ran out of walls! (50 marathons overall, with another one scheduled for November.)
