2015 Tailgate 5K

Get your football Saturday started off on the right foot with the Georgia's Own Credit Union Tailgate 5K, a 5K run/walk around the picturesque setting of Lanier Islands created in partnership with Atlanta Track Club.    

The Georgia's Own Credit Union Tailgate 5K is Atlanta's opportunity for College Football fans to showcase their team pride and get ready for their school's season!  In addition to overall and age group awards, a special prize will be awarded to all runners who registered as fans of the college football team with the largest number of participants in the 5K.

Atlanta Track Club is a member organization of both the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) & USA Track & Field (USATF) and adheres to the guidelines and rules of competition in the events Atlanta Track Club conducts & provides.

Number pick-up will take place the morning of the event beginning at 6:30 a.m. T-shirts will be distributed after you cross the finish line.

The Georgia's Own Credit Union Tailgate 5K is part of the inaugural Tailgates & Touchdowns event hosted by 680 The Fan and other partners.

This event, held over Labor Day weekend, celebrates the start of the 2015 College Football Season and includes three days of fun:.

Day 1, Thursday September 3rd: "Tailgate Golf Classic" at Lanier Islands's Legacy Golf Course presented by Zaxby's, Georgia's Own Credit Union and Bud Light. 8am registration and a 10am shotgun start. Come tee it up with former NCAA College Football players and sport your schools colors! Foursomes starting at $500 and foursomes with a former NCAA Football Player playing in your group for $680. Day 2, Friday September 4th: "Tailgate Cove at Lanier Island's Sunset Cove" presented by Zaxby's and Georgia's Own Credit Union. Come hang out on Bud Light Beach for all the fun and be sure to catch Warner Bros. Records chart-topping singer/guitarist Frankie Ballard performing LIVE on the Infiniti and Subaru of Gwinnett Performance Stage! The evening will be capped off by a fireworks show over gorgeous Lake Lanier. Gates open at 3pm with live music, ice cold Bud Light, and all the waterslides and park amenities that Lanier Islands Sunset Cove and Lanier World has to offer!
