20199 SINGLETON 4 MILER

2019 Singleton 4 Miler

The Singleton event is named after one of our founding members and a pioneer in road racing, Dr. Tim Singleton. Singleton had a passion for road racing and a vision to create events that celebrated the back of the pack as much as those at the front and a product of that vision is what we now know as the AJC Peachtree Road Race. Dr. Singleton made a significant impact on the health and fitness of the Atlanta community and left an amazing legacy for future generations.
Join us as we honor Dr. Singleton, whether you are participating in this event as part of your training for the AJC Peachtree Road Race or as a part of our Grand Prix Series we look forward to walking and running with you!
The 2019Â Singleton race is the fourth event in the 2019Â Atlanta Track Club Grand Prix Series presented by Piedmont Healthcare.
Atlanta Track Club celebrates Earth Day
In 2019, Atlanta Track Club has committed to implementing policies and procedures to become a more sustainable organization. While Earth Day lands on April 22, we are using April 27, race day as our time to celebrate with several sustainable vendors and recycle activations. Here's a snapshot of what is going on race day:
Visit one of our Sustainable Vendors pre-race or post-race:
Sustainable Norcross/Norcross Community Market- Bring your personal care packaging and natural wine corks to recycle on race day! They will be collecting the following items to recycle:
- Â Â Â Â Â Toothpaste tubes and floss containers
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Haircare product tubes, bottles and spray triggers
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Cosmetics packaging such as lipstick cases, mascara tubes, and eye shadow cases
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Deodorant containers and caps
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Plus, natural wine corks
Sustainable Norcross will also be selling sustainable bamboo eating utensils.
EcoSneakers- It takes 2180 gallons of water to make one pair of shoes! Help our environment and donate your used sneakers for repurposing or recycling to Eco Sneakers.
CHARM (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials)- Learn about Atlantaâs only facility for some of the most difficult to recycle materials around today. Meet the dedicated staff and even snag a giveaway!
Other Things Going on Race Day:
Recycling on Race Day- Be on the lookout for our recycling containers in the start and finish area. They bins were actually made from old race signage. To help prevent them going in a landfill, we made over 30 new recycling bins to use at future events. Please read the sides to help identify the proper container for your waste.

Compostable Cups on Course- For the first time EVER, you will receive water at our water stop on the course from a compostable cup! Coca-Cola has supplied us with a new product to try out for future events.
Recycle Your Race Bib- Visit our Green Tent post-race and recycle your race bib. It's as easy as taking off your safety pins, ripping off the timing tag and tossing each in a bin. We will have Green Team volunteers available to assist you.
