In 2020, Atlanta's marathon weekend is America's marathon weekend. Held the day after the 2020 Olympic Team Trials - Marathon, the Publix Atlanta Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K will let you see the legends, then be the legacy. Held for the second year on a new course that takes you past some of Atlanta's most important monuments, stadiums and neighborhoods, the Publix Atlanta Marathon will show participants from near and far why Atlanta is Running City USA.

Atlanta Track Club events are held rain or shine. However, the threat of lightning or other severe weather in the vicinity of the event may result in a delay or cancellation. For full details on our event policies, including weather, refunds and cancellations, click here.

Course time limit:

Marathon: 6 hours 30 minutes (15 minute per mile pace)

Half Marathon: 3 hours and 30 minutes (16 minute per mile pace)

For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, no pets, or wheeled conveyances of any kind, including baby joggers/strollers, roller/inline skates, and bicycles, are permitted on the course. Headphones are strongly discouraged.

Race Day Registration

No race day registration is available, but individuals can register at the Publix Atlanta Marathon Race Number Pickup on Friday and Saturday, February 28 and 29. Hours and location information coming soon.

Timing & Results

Unofficial results available online the afternoon of the event. Results are made official approximately two weeks after the event, after all inquires have been processed.

Your timing device for this event is the Chronotrack single use B-tag. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is...

  • Clearly visible on the front of the torso
  • Unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle)
  • Pinned in all four corners
  • Not covered (jackets, fuel belts, etc.)

Atlanta Track Club is a member organization of both the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) & USA Track & Field (USATF) and adheres to the guidelines and rules of competition in the events Atlanta Track Club conducts & provides.

Will Call

Must pre-purchase

Buy online during race registration or you can purchase Will Call in our online store. The deadline to purchase Will Call is February 25 at 11:59 pm.

Will Call Number Pickup will take place from 5:30 a.m. - 6:45 a.m. race morning.

Your number will not be available at Will Call on race morning unless you have purchased this option. If you do not purchase Will Call, your number will only be available at race number pickup on Friday and Saturday.

Switching Races

If you would like to switch races, you may do so by emailing registration@atlantatrackclub.org or in person at the Solutions counter at race number pickup. If a particular race distance is sold out prior to the event, there will not be an option to switch to that distance. No refunds will be given for switching to a shorter race distance and additional fees will apply for those switching to a longer race distance. For those switching races at race number pickup, shirts will be provided based on availability. Those switching events on race morning will be disqualified and removed from the results.

MARTA

We encourage all participants to take MARTA on race morning to avoid traffic delays due to race related street closures. CLICK HERE for more information on taking MARTA to the event. MARTA will begin rail service one hour earlier than usual on Sunday morning (5:00 a.m.) in order to get runners and spectators to the start line. Park at any of the 23 MARTA rail stations that have free daily parking.

Gear Check

Gear check will be available on race morning starting at 5:30 a.m. in Centennial Olympic Park. If you plan to check gear, please tear the gear check tag from the top of your race number and attach it to the bag provided to you at race number pickup. Items placed in bags other than the clear ones received at number pickup will not be accepted for gear check. Atlanta Track Club is not responsible for lost or missing bags. All checked gear must be picked up from the gear check tent by 2:00 p.m. on race day. Any remaining bags will be taken to Atlanta Track Club's office and made available for pick-up during regular office hours beginning on Monday, March 2. Items from unclaimed bags will be donated to local shelters after Friday, March 6.

Pace Team

The Publix Atlanta Marathon & Half Marathon Pace Team is here to help you achieve your goals at the event. Pace Team leads will run even splits at the pace indicated next to the finish times. Run/walk intervals will be offered for some of the pace groups (specific interval details will be forthcoming).

Streakers are defined as participants who have completed any distance of the Publix Atlanta Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K from 2007 to the present. Streakers must have valid results in the race they registered for and finish within the course limit to be eligible the following year. If you are a streaker and do not see your name on the list, please contact registration@atlantatrackclub.org.

Athletes with Disabilities

In order to serve all our athletes, Atlanta Track Club offers opportunities for Athletes with Disabilities (AWD). If you are an AWD and interested in participating in Publix Atlanta Marathon, Half Marathon or 5K, please email awd@atlantatrackclub.org, to discuss what reasonable accommodations can be made based on your specific needs. Atlanta Track Club officials will provide reasonable accommodation to Athletes with Disabilities on an individualized and event by event basis.

Awards

Overall awards are based on gun time and overall winners are not eligible for age group awards.

Training

Let us help you train for a longer distance! Our spring marathon and half marathon training takes place in the winter/spring and prepares participants for the Publix Atlanta Marathon and Half Marathon on 3/1/20. The program is great for novice and intermediate runners. Whether you're training for your first full or half marathon or your 50th, don't go at it alone. Hotel & Travel

The Hyatt Regency Atlanta (265 Peachtree Street NE) serves as the host hotel for the Publix Atlanta Marathon. Located just three blocks from the start/finish area, this sleek luxury hotel is centrally located in downtown Atlanta and walkable to the city's premier tourist attractions: Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, College Football Hall of Fame, The Center for Civil and Human Rights, etc.

Special room rates for participants are available. Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport is a short 15 minute drive or is easily accessible via MARTA's Peachtree Center rail transit station conveniently connected to the race hotel. Contact HCI Travel, the official agent of the 2019 Publix Atlanta Marathon, for help with additional travel needs.
