Celebrate the legacy of the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon and enjoy another chance for Olympic fans, runners and walkers of all abilities to run on the Trials course. This event will give every runner and walker in Atlanta and beyond the unique opportunity chase their "gold" on the same streets that gave six Americans their ticket to Tokyo.

Event Day Registration

Due to COVID-19, no race day registration

Deadline to register - online through 11:59 p.m., July 23, 2021

Atlanta Track Club intends to hold the Road to Gold as scheduled on July 24, 2021. If the format of the event moves to virtual ONLY or is canceled all together, you will be given the option to receive a full refund (less processing fees from registration vendor). If, due to COVD-19, the location of the event has to be changed, refunds will not be provided, but you will be immediately notified via email and social media.

Timing & Results

Unofficial results are available online the afternoon of the event. Results are made official approximately two weeks after the event, after all inquires have been processed.

Your timing device for this event is the Chronotrack single use B-tag. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is...

  • Clearly visible on the front of the torso
  • Unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle)
  • Pinned in all four corners
  • Not covered (jackets, fuel belts, etc.)

Atlanta Track Club is a member organization of both the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) & USA Track & Field (USATF) and adheres to the guidelines and rules of competition in the events Atlanta Track Club conducts & provides.

COVID-19 POLICY

Based on the guidelines released by the CDC on May 13, 2021, Atlanta Track Club has adopted specific policies to ensure the safety of all participants, volunteers, and staff. Atlanta Track Club reserves the right to ask anyone in attendance to leave the venue should they not comply.

  • Attendees who can present proof of COVID-19 vaccination will not be required to wear a mask.
  • Attendees who are not vaccinated or are unable to present proof of vaccination will be required to complete a COVID screening questionnaire upon arrival and requested to wear a mask while not running or walking.
  • Attendees are requested to maintain social distancing throughout the duration of the event.
  • All participants are to bring their own hydration on the course.

Start: 250 Marietta St. NW (outside Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame)

Finish: 1 State Farm Arena Dr.

Age Limits

  • 4 Miles: 9 & older

Course Limit

  • 1 hour and 20 minutes (20 minute per mile pace)

Strollers

For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, no pets or wheeled conveyances of any kind, including baby joggers/strollrs, roller/inline skates and bicycles are permitted on the 4 Mile course.

VIRTUAL PARTICIPANTS

Those selecting the Virtual Road to Gold 4M race option will be asked to complete their race between Friday, July 23, 2021 and Monday, July 26, 2021. Results must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021. Virtual participants will receive a race bib, Mizuno T-shirt and commemorative medal. Virtual participants who register before Thursday, July 15 at 11:59 p.m. will have their swag items shipped to them prior to event day. Those registering after the deadline will have their race kit sent after the event. Due to Atlanta Track Club office closure, virtual participant kits will not be mailed until after August 3, 2021.

SWITCHING RACES

Switching from Virtual to In-Person or from In-Person to Virtual

The deadline for participants to switch to the in-person race is Wednesday, July 14 at 11:59 p.m. No participant will be allowed to switch to in-person after that date due to the mailing of items before the event. If you are switching from in-person to virtual and make this change prior to July 14, your items will be mailed prior to event day. Those who make this change after that deadline will have their items mailed until AFTER the event.

ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES

In order to serve all our athletes, Atlanta Track Club offers opportunities for Athletes with Disabilities (AWD). If you are an AWD and interested in participating in the Road to Gold, please email awd@atlantatrackclub.org, to discuss what reasonable accommodations can be made based on your specific needs. Atlanta Track Club officials will provide reasonable accommodation to Athletes with Disabilities on an individualized and event by event basis.

RACE NUMBER PICKUP

Race number pickup will be located at 1 State Farm Arena Dr. at the intersection of Andrew Young International Blvd. and State Farm Arena Dr. Race number pickup will only be available for participants who have registered before 11:59 p.m. on July, 23. No race day registration will be available.

T-SHIRTS & MEDALS

T-shirts & medals will be located at 1 State Farm Arena Dr. at the intersection of Andrew Young International Blvd. and State Farm Arena Dr. post-race. Participants will receive their t-shirt and medal once they have crossed the finish line. T-shirts and medals will not be available prerace.

TRANSPORTATION/PARKING:

  • MARTA - GWCC/CNN Center Station
  • Paid Parking - Parking can be prepurchased at a discounted rate of $11.50 HERE or $15.00 on-site for the Red Deck, Green Deck, CNN Deck, or Saphire Deck.
  • Legal street Parking

AWARDS

Due to the race-by-appointment format, both overall awards and age group awards will be based on net time. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards. Award ceremonies will not be held on site in 2021. All awards will be emailed to participants after the event. All winners will receive a credit to Atlanta Track Club's online store which can be combined with future credits from other Grand Prix events.

  • Age Group Awards for the top three men and women in each age group (10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, five-year increments up to 90+)
