Paws for Domestic Violence Survivors 1k/5k Race

The Paws for Domestic Violence Survivors 1k/5K Race is a fundraising event intended to raise awareness and funds for the housing of pets of domestic violence survivors. Studies have shown that up to 71% of domestic violence survivors report that their abuser has threatened, injured, or killed a family pet, and up to 48% of survivors stay in an abusive relationship because they fear for their pet's safety. Providing safe housing for pets can be a crucial factor in enabling survivors to leave their abusers and rebuild their lives. Sixty from each entry fee goes to providing one night of boarding to provide a safe haven for pets of domestic violence survivors who are seeking shelter and protection from their abusers. It's a great opportunity for the community to come together, support a worthy cause, and enjoy a fun-filled day with their dog.
This event is open to runners and walkers of all levels, as well as their dogs.

The registration fee is $100 per person, which includes housing a survivor's pet for one night, a race bib, t-shirt, bandana for your dog, and a Go Bag ( a small replica of what is given to each foster pet parent that houses a survivors pet, a leash, dog seat belt etc). Please note that prices increase to $125 per person on May 1st, so be sure to register before then to take advantage of the early bird pricing and make sure you receive a go bag and t-shirt, and bandana.
