ATLANTA – March 14, 2019 – No summer event in Atlanta is as anticipated as the 50th Running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race on July 4. Starting Friday, March 15 runners and walkers will get their chance to be part of the historical event when registration opens for the world’s largest and greatest 10K.
60,000 entries are available for the Peachtree. Members of Atlanta Track Club who activated their membership by February 1, 2019 will receive guaranteed entry as part of their membership benefits. The remaining entries will be filled through a lottery or by those who purchase charity entries benefitting Kilometer Kids, Atlanta Track Club’s free youth running initiative. Member and lottery registration will close at 11:59 p.m. on March 31. Charity registrations remain available until June 15 or until they sell out. Held annually on July 4, the AJC Peachtree Road Race is an Atlanta tradition. Participants make their way from Lenox Mall down Peachtree St. and onto 10th St., finishing at the gates of Piedmont Park. A post-race celebration featuring music, snacks and the coveted finisher’s shirt will be held in the park’s meadow.
Regardless of the day or time of registration, all individuals who enter the lottery during the registration period will have an equal chance of being selected for the 2019 AJC Peachtree Road Race. Entrants will be randomly selected after the lottery closes at 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 31. All lottery entrants will receive an email by Tuesday, April 2 notifying them if they were selected for the 2019 event. There is no charge to enter the lottery. Registrations will only be charged once their entry is accepted.
The 50th running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race will take place on Thursday, July 4. Entry into the 10K event is $38 for Atlanta Track Club members who receive guaranteed entry and $42 for those accepted via the lottery, plus applicable online processing fees. Charity entries are $200 and include guaranteed entry into the event, a commemorative medal, a limited edition performance shirt, a MARTA Breeze card for race day, a 10K training plan and entry into the post-race party at Park Tavern.
